Yoga 1 is a beginners class which incorporates the fundamentals of step-back sun salutations, standing poses, hip-openers, seated poses, twists, backbends, and basic inversions. Breathing exercises are explored as students begin to link movement through the postures with the inhale and exhale. Deeper backbends, more complex balancing poses, and inversions are practiced. A strong foundation in the basics is encouraged.

Regular participation in Yoga 2 and a regular home practice are expected. No beginners, please.

The class is a fun way to introduce yoga to your child and share in the experience of exploring new skills, through repetition and interaction with other children their age. An adult must participate with the child but no previous yoga experience is required. Siobhan Carranza teaches the class and pulls from her training as a yoga teacher for 11+ yrs, and Itsy Bitsy Yoga Facilitator, and training with Radiant Child Yoga.
