Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation, practiced in savasana, that systematically guides and relaxes you at every level of being, including your physical, energetic, mental, emotional, and spiritual layers (called the five koshas). Through the use of breath awareness, body scanning, and guided imagery, yoga nidra can help us to turn off our “fight or flight” response and turn on the “relaxation response” – the body’s natural healing state. Yoga Nidra is an ancient practice that has been adapted by a number of teachers to be accessible in our modern times, and Katie is certified in one of these methods, called Divine Sleep Yoga Nidra.
This workshop will include a brief introduction to the practice, a 60-minute guided yoga nidra practice, and time for reflection and journaling post-practice.
Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat. If you have a journal you would like to use for the reflection time, please bring that as well.
