Advanced Teacher Training at Tranquil Space
Advance your YOGA teaching
Yoga teachers from all traditions are invited to join Tranquil Space’s Advanced Teacher Training (ATT). We are excited to announce new offerings and topics for our 8th year of this advanced yoga training. Areas of study shall include: asana, pranayama, anatomy & physiology, advanced teaching methods, yoga therapeutics, yin, restorative, sequencing, kirtan, ayurveda, yogic philosophy, and eastern psychology. Workshops and contact hours are led by our senior teachers and visiting guest yoga teachers.
ATT is designed for 200-hour trained teachers who wish to further their learning and advance their teaching practice. Students may complete the training for 500-hour certification in one year or over the course of two years. Certification includes 260 contact hours, including course work, observed teaching, and apprentice-work, plus an additional 40 non-contact hours. The full training meets the Yoga Alliance guidelines for a 500-hour certification.
The training is also open to students of yoga who wish to simply deepen their understanding of the practice through weekend modules or public workshops. Continuing education credits (CE) through Yoga Alliance are available for registered teachers.
Students are welcome to enroll for a workshop, a weekend, or the entire training. ATT is open to everyone wishing to deepen their understanding and practice of yoga. Continuing education credits (CE) for yoga teachers are available. See our website for upcoming trainings and workshops.
Graduates receive listing under our Tranquil Space-trained teacher page plus 15% off classes and tranquility boutique shopping at all Tranquil Space studios.

Tranquil Space’s ATT program constantly inspired and challenged me. I left each intensive weekend excited to teach the next day, full of fresh perspectives, tools, and knowledge. The wide range of teachers, my supportive peers, and the diverse topics of study fulfilled exactly what I was craving more of in my quest to continue this path of learning so that I may be a more well-rounded teacher. I felt I owed that to the students who attend my classes, and to myself. I gained confidence and have been able to tap in deeper to my authentic voice and teaching style. I liked that the program includes different points of view, so that, ultimately, it is up to us as teachers (and students!) to decide what resonates within and teach from that place. I am deeply grateful to all of my teachers and peers for making this experience so fulfilling. — Alice, 2012 ATT graduate
The TS ATT program was an incredible experience for me – truly life changing, and for the better! Thank you 🙂 — Becky Pfordresher, ATT graduate
I truly appreciated the diversity of expert teachers, the focus on non-asana areas of yoga in addition to the asana deep-dive. I REALLY appreciated the flexibility of the program to take over two years, which allowed me to actually complete a 500 hour offering. Rave reviews. — Wendy Maines, ATT graduate

The apprenticeship path is a way to work with experienced teachers and learn through direct hands-on co-teaching and observation.
The apprenticeship includes the following four components:
- Assisting a regular class as a Teaching Assistant
- Assisting with Teacher Training
- Finding electives that speak to your interests and areas for growth
Throughout the year there will be special assignments to integrate the work of the learning. These assignments will include several writing projects, regular practice, observed teaching, and culminate in a yoga thesis. The yoga thesis is an opportunity to deeply research, write-about and express your passion for a topic near to your heart. All of this special work is an opportunity to integrate the learnings and a chance for feedback and support from your teachers.
Congratulations class of 2015
