  what is the difference between the newbie yogi series and the newbie workshop? which one should I take, or can I take both?
the newbie yogi series meets four times for an hour-and-a-half each time. there is ample time allotted to one-on-one assistance, and questions and answers. the newbie workshop meets one time for two hours and is designed to give the beginner an overview of vinyasa flow yoga.

students brand new to yoga most often sign up for the series because they appreciate being with the same group of peers over four weeks, growing over time and having concepts and poses thoroughly broken down over the four sessions. other students, who may have some previous experience with yoga or who just want an overview, start with the workshop. if you are unsure of what to do, feel free to email the newbie program coordinator at newbieprogram@tranquilspace.com.

will i be ready for yoga 1 classes at the studio after completing the newbie series?
yes! the newbie series is designed so that the student gradually builds knowledge and stamina over the course of the four weeks. the fourth session of the newbie series is a yoga 1 level class.

i'd like to sign up for the series, but I have to miss one of the four sessions. is that okay, and can i somehow make up the session that i missed?
yes, it is okay if you miss one of the four sessions. you can talk to the teacher about coming in a little early or staying later at another session to review one-on-one what you missed. please note that since the newbie series is a tranquil space workshop, you cannot make up the class missed by attending a regular yoga 1 class at the studio (see also cancellation policy below).

i've never done yoga before. can iattend a yoga 1 class or the newbie yoga class without doing the newbie series or workshop?
yes. this is a decision completely up to you. if you'd like to drop-in for one class first and see what tranquil space and vinyasa yoga are about, please do so. you can then continue taking yoga 1 classes if that is a comfortable level for you or decide to sign up for the newbie series.

what should i wear to class?
please wear what is comfortable and allows you to move and stretch. most people find that t-shirts (not too loose or baggy though) and leggings work best.

newbie series cancellation policy
no refunds will be issued unless your space can be filled with someone from the waiting list. if your space is not filled, a credit toward classes or workshops will be issued ONLY if the cancellation is received 48 hours prior to the event. NO credits or refunds will be issued if cancellation is received within 48 hours of the event.

important note: the newbie series is a tranquil space workshop. sessions are not transferable to regular yoga classes or a future series.
